Spinach Helios F1
Spinach Helios F1 Hybrid. Harvest regular pickings of vitamin-packed and tasty home-grown spinach, these easy to grow leaves are best enjoyed and most nutritious when picked and used straight away. Quick to crop, make successive sowings of Spinach ‘Helios’ F1 Hybrid and you can start enjoying your first harvest within weeks, then continuously through the summer months and into autumn. This variety has a slower speed of growth, producing a thicker leaf which helps protect it from bolting in mid-summer. The beautiful dark green glossy leaves have a good flavour and texture, ideal for use as a baby leaf in salads or cooked.

How to sow
Direct sow spinach outdoors from March to September in well prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or semi shade. Early spring and late autumn sowings can also be made under cloches or in the border soil of a cold greenhouse. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (1/2”) in drills 30cm (12”) apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 5cm (2”) apart. The removed baby leaves can be used in salads. Sow every 3 to 4 weeks for a continual supply of spinach leaves throughout summer and autumn.
